Frequently Asked Questions
Catering
Valley Road Vineyards does not offer catering, but will provide a list of Approved Partners who are familiar with working at our property.
Beer, Spirits & Wine
If desired, you or your caterer can obtain an ABC license to serve alcoholic beverages other than wine. Either you or your caterer can purchase such beverages. We ask that only Valley Road wine be served and there is a minimum of one case per 20 adult guests (cases can be mixed and a 15% case discount is offered). No guest may bring outside alcoholic beverages or serve themselves while attending any portion of the event.
Furnishings
Valley Road will provide and up-to-date list and count of provided furnishings, including 5′ round tables; 8′ and 6′ rectangular tables; chairs; a bar; two wine barrel tables; high top cocktail tables; a bar; and a cake table. Clients provide their own linens, tableware, flatware, and glassware. VRV has two arbors available for use during the ceremony use which may be decorated as desired, as well as a wooden cross. Any other furnishings desired for the ceremony will be provided by the guest.
Wedding Planners / Coordinators
Valley Road Vineyards requires that wedding parties retain a professional Wedding Coordinator (an Approved Vendor list is provided) to be present on the day of the wedding, but ideally to assist with details the month of. Some guests find that these services are helpful when planning a wedding while working full-time or from a long distance and choose to also retain them for the length of the planning process.
The Loft and The Lodge
The wedding party has access to the Loft as early as 10:00AM on the morning of the wedding. The Loft is equipped with mirrors, styling stations, comfortable seating — and has a gorgeous view of The Lawn and the Rockfish Valley. Those using The Lodge generally prefer to arrive approximately two to four hours before the ceremony. The photographer may arrive when desired to capture pre-wedding photos.
Rehearsal Dinners & Welcome Parties
Couples will be able to hold their Ceremony Rehearsal the day prior. The actual time will be scheduled 60 days prior to your Wedding date.
Many couples choose to host their Rehearsal Dinner at Valley Road Vineyards. The Library is an intimate setting for cocktails, buffets, and/or seated dinners for up to 60 people. Our Tasting Room, SIP, is a popular spot for “night before” Welcome Parties — especially if many guests are from out-of-town. If interested, please request rates.
Music
The Barn floor was made for dancing. Depending on the size of your guest list, you may opt to save space and retain a DJ (vs. a live band). Due to local ordinance, all music must end by 10:30PM and all guests must depart the premises no later than 11:00PM.
Ceremony / Reception Period
The License Period for Ceremony and Reception is five hours, e.g. Ceremony at 6:00PM, music end by 10:30PM, guest departure by 11:00PM. Based on time of year and sunset, Ceremony start time and music end/ guest departure time will be adjusted in consultation with the couple. If additional hours are desired, they will be charged at $500 per hour.
